MARRON (Cherax tenuimanus) are native to Western Australia, Weight 60-250+grams
YABBY (Cherax albidus) sometimes known as the Golden Crayfish. Weight to 40-70+grams
Marron and Yabbies are fresh water Crayfish yielding a surprisingly sweet-flavored flesh. They are mainly sold
live and can survive in display aquariums for a remarkably long time.
The fresh water Crayfish is ideal for soups and bisques, they can also be barbecued, steamed, grilled and pan-fried,
in and out of the shell. Use the sweet meat as stuffing for meat dishes such as veal and beef. They can replace
the prawn in many areas, cocktails, seafood platters etc.
Although this indigenous crustacean has been widely acclaimed by the Australian public, it is only relatively recently
that the international community has been able to sample this unique product.
The unique characteristics of these crustaceans have an extremely high meat yield and can be live shipped to anywhere
in the world with 99% live on arrival. Live storage by chilling (5-8 degrees C) maintains the product in perfect
condition for up to 8 days.
