Our thanks to Jason Coughran for these great photos gumar means: red or blood |
.
Euastacus gumar |
| Euastacus suttoni This species is found in the New England district of New South Wales and is called the New England Crayfish. As with many Euastacus species, altitude seems to have some bearing on the homerange of this sp[ecies. They only occur in streams above 700 metres. Like the Gippsland Spiny crayfish, this species lives quite well in slow moving rivers in cultivated areas. |
